Day 1 – Arrival To Istanbul.

Day 2 – Byzantian & Ottoman Relics

Destinations : Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, Topkapi Palace, Rustem Pasha Mosque

Your day will commence with a visit to the ancient Byzantine Hippodrome where you will tour the Egyptian Obelisk, Serpentine Column, Fountain of Wilhelm II, the elegant Blue Mosque famous with its heavenly six minarets and the Hagia Sophia Museum, built during the reign of Emperor Theodosius and burned down in the fire of Nika Revolt in 532 A.D. Day tour will continue with a visit to the Grand Bazaar, exploring a labyrinth of streets and passages housing more than 4,000 shops. After lunch you will be guided to visit the Topkapi Palace, residence and administrative center of the Ottoman Sultans. Historical tour of Istanbul will conclude with a visit to the Rustem Pasha Mosque. After the tour you will be leaded back to your hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 3- Istanbul- Cappadocia (B.L)

Destinations : Kaymaklı Underground City, Sobesos, Keşlik monastery, Sinasos, Caravan Serai, Sunset Cappadocia

We will take morning flight to Cappadocia and departure 2 hours before flight from the hotel, After arrival to Cappadocia we will start our trip by visiting Kaymaklı Underground City, one of the most interesting underground settlements in Cappadocia. Drive to to Sahinefendi ( Sobesos )- Sobessos is newly discovered (01 May 2002) mosaic houses & Archaeological excavation site. Villages in the valleys, surrounded by the “table top” mountains, are spectacular. Continue with Keslik Monastery near Cemil, that hides it’s frescoes behind a very thin smoke layer which we can only see by torch light. Lunch break. Visit to Mustafapaşa (Sinasos), an old Greek town with its spectacular old Greek houses; very fine examples of late Greek settlements and architecture. Visit to Saruhan Caravanserai, a roadside inn where travellers could rest and recover from the day’s journey. Caravanserais supported the flow of commerce, information and people across a network of trade routes of Asia, North Africa and South-Eastern Europe on the legendary Silk Road and the Spice road. Continue with panorama of the Red Valley, with its fabulous volcanic rock formations, is in the heart of Cappadocia but away from the tourist crowd. Overnight Cappadocia

Day 4 – Cappadocia (B.L)

Destinations : Devrent Valley, Paşabağ, Zelve, Göreme Open Air Museum ,Uçhisar

In the morning, first meeting with the lunar landscape of Cappadocia: rock formations beyond belief in Devrent valley; a journey in the past with its troglodyte houses, visit to Pasabag “fairy chimneys” where the voice of wind mixes with the “songs of fairies” near Zelve. Lunch break in Avanos, centre of terra cotta work of art since 3000 BC. and a demonstration in a traditional pottery workshop. Afternoon, visit the famous Goreme Open Air Museum and see the best examples of Byzantine art in Cappadocia in rock-cut churches with frescoes and paintings (10th to 13th century). Continue to Uchisar Rock-Castle to have a panoramic view of the valleys of Cappadocia. Overnight Cappadocia

Day 5 – Cappadocia – Ephesus (B.D)

Destinations : Ephesus Ancient city, Saint John Church, temple of Artemis

Pick-up from hotel 2 hours before flight departure.
Take the morning flight from Kayseri to Izmir (direct or via Istanbul).
tranfer from airport to ephesus to Visit to the ancient city of Ephesus. We will spend several hours walking in the footsteps of Alexander the Great, Caesar, Cicero, Apostles Paul and John and many other familiar historical names. The recently opened Terrace Houses where the wealthiest Romans lived are an excellent example of sensitive excavation and presentation. The mosaics and frescos are spectacular. Tradition has it that Virgin Mary was brought here by St John after the Crucifixion and lived her final years near the city of Ephesus on an isolated mountaintop. A lovely chapel is constructed on the site tended by Franciscans and open to visitors. It has been designated a pilgrimage site by the Pope. We will continue with Saint John Church where Apostle John spent his final years and he was buried. Visit to temple of Artemis to see the remains of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Overnight Kusadasi near Ephesus.

Day 6 – Pamukkale- Hierapolis- Laodicea (188 km) – Istanbul (B)

Destinations : Laodicea, Cotton Castle, Hierapolis,
Morning Departure Drive to Pamukkale, on the way, visit to Laodicea (present name Denizli) yet one of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor. Excavations still going on and an ancient city as beautiful as Ephesus will be uncovered soon. We see the ancient theatres, the remains of basilica which was recently uncovered, ancient stone water pipes, Temple A, agora, monumental fountain. After Laodicea, Discovery of Travertine terraces and Hierapolis. The travertine terraces at Pamukkale are one of the most spectacular natural wonders that you can see from various mineral springs in a vast white cliff side. About 200 m overlooking the plain, calcite-laden waters have dripped down over a series of terraced levels and created a fairyland of bizarre solidified cascades and shell-shaped basins. It looks like creations from snow or like balls from cotton, which gave the scenery the Turkish name Pamukkale (cotton castle): “pamuk” for cotton and “kale” for castle. Moreover the water in the basins is changing its color according to how the light enters. Overnight Pamukkale.

Day 7 (B)

DIA 2 – RELIQUIAS BIZANTINAS Y OTOMANAS

DESTINOS: HIPODROMO, MEZQUITA AZUL, HAGIA SOPHIA, GRAN BAZAR, PALACIO DE TOPKAPI, MEZQUITA RUSTEM PASHA

Su día comenzará con una visita al antiguo hipódromo bizantino, donde recorrerá el Obelisco egipcio, la Columna Serpentina, la Fuente de Wilhelm II, la elegante Mezquita Azul, famosa por sus seis minaretes celestiales y el Museo Hagia Sophia, construido durante el reinado del emperador Theodosius y quemada en el incendio de la revuelta de Nika en el año 532 AD El tour continuará con una visita al Gran Bazar, explorando un laberinto de calles y pasajes que albergan más de 4,000 tiendas. Después del almuerzo, se le guiará para visitar el Palacio de Topkapi, residencia y centro administrativo de los sultanes otomanos. DÍA 3 – CRUCERO POR EL BOSFORO Y TOUR DE DOS CONTINENTES

DESTINOS: CUERNO DE ORO, PATRIARCADO ORTODOXO DE FENER, SINAGOGA DE AHRIDA, MEZQUITA DEL SULTAN EYUP, MERCADO EGIPCIO, COLINA CAMLICA

Comience el día con un viaje en automóvil a lo largo del Cuerno de Oro, el brazo de la península del Bósforo que separa las ciudades antiguas y nuevas de Estambul. Siga las huellas de la historia en Balat en el Patriarcado Ortodoxo Fener, luego visite la Iglesia de Metal de San Esteban el Búlgaro, la Sinagoga Ahrida, la Mezquita del Sultán Eyup y vea los 21 km de largo de las murallas de la ciudad de Estambul. En la siguiente parada, el Mercado Egipcio (Bazar de las Especias), con diferentes aromas de diversas especias. DIA 4 – TOUR VERDE BURSA

Después del desayuno en el hotel, salida en ferry a través de Yalova, disfrutando de la hermosa vista del campo. Conduzca a Bursa, antigua capital otomana y almuerzo del famoso “Kebap de Alejandro Magno”. Suba al monte Uludag, el legendario Monte Olympos en teleférico, visita a Ulucami (Gran Mezquita), la Mezquita Verde y el Mausoleo Verde, el antiguo Mercado de Seda en el Bazar Cubierto. DIA 5: BURSA – ANKARA – CAPADOCIA

DESTINOS: MUSEO DE LAS CIVILIZACIONES DE ANATOLIA, MAUSOLEO DE ATATURK, PASEO POR LA CIUDAD DE ANKARA

Después del desayuno temprano en Bursa, salimos temprano a Ankara, la capital cosmopolita de Turquía, ubicada en la región central de Anatolia del país. Durante nuestra parada en Ankara visitaremos el Museo de las Civilizaciones de Anatolia y el Mausoleo de Ataturk. Después de almorzar, caminata por la ciudad en Ankara, continuaremos nuestro viaje a Capadocia y pasaremos la noche en Capadocia.

DIA 6: TOUR DE LA CIUDAD SUBTERRÁNEA

DESTINOS: CIUDAD SUBTERRÁNEO DE KAYMAKLI, SOBESOS, MONASTERIO DE KEŞLIK, SINASOS, CARAVANSERAI DE SARUHAN, VALLE ROJO.

Comenzamos nuestro día con la visita a la ciudad subterranea de Kaymaklı, uno de los asentamientos subterráneos más interesantes de Capadocia. Continuacion hasta Sahinefendi (Sobesos): Sobesos se descubrió recientemente (01 de mayo de 2002) en las casas de mosaicos y en el sitio de excavación arqueológica. Continúa con el Monasterio Keslik cerca de Cemil, que esconde los frescos detrás de una capa de humo muy delgada que solo podemos ver con la luz de lamparas. Pausa para almorzar. Visita a Mustafapaşa (Sinasos), una antigua ciudad griega con sus espectaculares casas griegas antiguas; Muy buenos ejemplos de asentamientos y arquitectura griega. Visite Caravanserai de Saruhan, una posada en la carretera donde los viajeros podian descansar y recuperarse del viaje del día. Continuacion con el panorama del Valle Rojo, con sus fabulosas formaciones de roca volcánica, está en el corazón de Capadocia, pero lejos de la multitud de turistas. Pernocte en Capadocia.

DIA 7 – CAPADOCIA

DESTİNOS: VALLE DE DEVRENT, VALLE DE PAŞABAG, MUSEO AL AİRE LİBRE DE GOREME, UCHİSAR

Por la mañana, primer encuentro con el paisaje lunar de Capadocia: formaciones rocosas increíbles en el valle de Devrent; un viaje en el pasado con sus casas trogloditas, visita a las “chimeneas de hadas” de Pasabag, donde la voz del viento se mezcla con las “canciones de las hadas” cerca de Zelve. Almuerzo en Avanos, centro de obras de arte de terracota desde el año 3000 a. y una demostración en un taller de cerámica tradicional. Por la tarde, visite el famoso Museo al aire libre de Goreme y vea los mejores ejemplos de arte bizantino en Capadocia en iglesias excavadas en la roca con frescos y pinturas (siglos X a XIII). Continúe hasta el castillo de piedra de Uchisar para tener una vista panorámica de los valles de Capadocia. Pernocte en Capadocia.

DIA 8 – CAPADOCIA – ESTAMBUL

Recogida en el hotel 2 horas antes de la salida del vuelo.

Tome el vuelo de la mañana de regreso a Estambul.
