Day 1 – Istanbul

Arrival in Istanbul and meeting at the airport, transfer to the hotel, check- in. Leisure afternoon.
Optional: Possibility of arranging Bosphorus Cruise Tour if you arrive early and time permits. It can be arranged even last minute on arrival in Istanbul.
Overnight Istanbul.

Day 2 – Sultanahmet – Old Istanbul (B)

Meeting at the hotel reception at 09:00am
Visit to Topkapi Palace, which was used by the Ottoman Sultans from the 15th to 19th centuries. We will also see the impressive collection of priceless jewels, crystal, silver and porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and relics of the prophet Mohammed.(Entrance to the Harem is extra). After lunch break we will see the Blue Mosque, built for Sultan Ahmet I, which is a unique piece of architecture with its six minarets and features 20,000 beautiful Iznik tiles. Visit the ancient Hippodrome with Obelisk of Theodosius, Snake Pillar and German Fountain of Wilhelm II. Walk through the back streets of Old Istanbul and visit the Yerebatan underground Cistern. At the end of the tour, at request, free time to see the Grand Covered Bazaar (except Sundays). *May be done as a walking tour if your hotel is centrally located. Overnight Istanbul.

Day 3- Istanbul- Cappadocia (B.L)

Pick-up from hotel 2 hours before flight departure.
Take the early morning flight from Ataturk Airport in Istanbul to Cappadocia. Arrival at the airport and meeting just outside the arrival’s gate with a sign bearing your name with your driver. Transfer to Cappadocia. Tour to Kaymaklı Underground City, one of the most interesting underground settlements in Cappadocia. Drive to to Sahinefendi ( Sobesos )- Sobessos is newly discovered (01 May 2002) mosaic houses & Archaeological excavation site. Villages in the valleys, surrounded by the “table top” mountains, are spectacular. Continue with Keslik Monastery near Cemil, that hides it’s frescoes behind a very thin smoke layer which we can only see by torch light. Lunch break. Visit to Mustafapaşa (Sinasos), an old Greek town with its spectacular old Greek houses; very fine examples of late Greek settlements and architecture. Visit to Saruhan Caravanserai, a roadside inn where travellers could rest and recover from the day’s journey. Caravanserais supported the flow of commerce, information and people across a network of trade routes of Asia, North Africa and South-Eastern Europe on the legendary Silk Road and the Spice road. Continue with panorama of the Red Valley, with its fabulous volcanic rock formations, is in the heart of Cappadocia but away from the tourist crowd. Overnight Cappadocia

Day 4 – Cappadocia (B.L)

Meeting at the hotel reception at 09:30am
In the morning, first meeting with the lunar landscape of Cappadocia: rock formations beyond belief in Devrent valley; a journey in the past with its troglodyte houses, visit to Pasabag “fairy chimneys” where the voice of wind mixes with the “songs of fairies” near Zelve. Lunch break in Avanos, centre of terra cotta work of art since 3000 BC. and a demonstration in a traditional pottery workshop. Afternoon, visit the famous Goreme Open Air Museum and see the best examples of Byzantine art in Cappadocia in rock-cut churches with frescoes and paintings (10th to 13th century). Continue to Uchisar Rock-Castle to have a panoramic view of the valleys of Cappadocia. Overnight Cappadocia

Day 5 – Cappadocia – İstanbul

ESTAMBUL Y CAPADOCIA 5D4N

DÍA 1 – LLEGADA A ESTAMBUL Y REUNIÓN EN EL AEROPUERTO

Traslado al hotel, check-in. Tarde de ocio. Pernocte en Estambul.

DÍA 2 – SULTANAHMET – ESTAMBUL ANTIGUA (B)

Reunión en la recepción del hotel a las 09:00 am.

Visita al palacio de Topkapi, que fue utilizado por los sultanes otomanos desde el siglo XV hasta el siglo XIX. También veremos la impresionante colección de joyas de incalculable valor, cristal, plata y porcelana, túnicas usadas por los sultanes y reliquias del profeta Mahoma. Después de la pausa del almuerzo, veremos la Mezquita Azul, construida para el Sultán Ahmet I, que es una pieza arquitectónica única con sus seis minaretes y cuenta con 20,000 hermosos azulejos de Iznik. Visite el antiguo Hipódromo con el Obelisco de Teodosio, el Pilar de la Serpiente y la Fuente alemana de Wilhelm II. Camine por las calles secundarias del casco antiguo de Estambul y visite la Cisterna subterránea de Yerebatan. Al final del recorrido, a petición, tiempo libre para ver el Gran Bazar Cubierto (cerrado los domingos).* Pernocte en Estambul.

DÍA 3 – ESTAMBUL- CAPADOCIA (D,A)

Tomaremos el vuelo de la mañana a Capadocia. Después de llegar a Capadocia, comenzaremos con la visita a la ciudad subterranea de Kaymaklı, uno de los asentamientos subterráneos más interesantes de Capadocia. Continuacion hasta Sahinefendi (Sobesos): Sobesos se descubrió recientemente (01 de mayo de 2002) en las casas de mosaicos y en el sitio de excavación arqueológica. Continúa con el Monasterio Keslik cerca de Cemil, que esconde los frescos detrás de una capa de humo muy delgada que solo podemos ver con la luz de lamparas. Pausa para almorzar. Visita a Mustafapaşa (Sinasos), una antigua ciudad griega con sus espectaculares casas griegas antiguas; Muy buenos ejemplos de asentamientos y arquitectura griega. Visite el Caravanserai de Saruhan, una posada en la carretera donde los viajeros podian descansar y recuperarse del viaje del día. Continuacion con el panorama del Valle Rojo, con sus fabulosas formaciones de roca volcánica, está en el corazón de Capadocia, pero lejos de la multitud de turistas. Pernocte en Capadocia.

DIA 4 – CAPADOCIA (D,A)

Por la mañana, primer encuentro con el paisaje lunar de Capadocia: formaciones rocosas increíbles en el valle de Devrent; un viaje en el pasado con sus casas trogloditas, visita a las “chimeneas de hadas” de Pasabag, donde la voz del viento se mezcla con las “canciones de las hadas” cerca de Zelve. Almuerzo en Avanos, centro de obras de arte de terracota desde el año 3000 a. y una demostración en un taller de cerámica tradicional. Por la tarde, visite el famoso Museo al aire libre de Goreme y vea los mejores ejemplos de arte bizantino en Capadocia en iglesias excavadas en la roca con frescos y pinturas (siglos X a XIII). Continúe hasta el castillo de piedra de Uchisar para tener una vista panorámica de los valles de Capadocia. Pernocte en Capadocia.

DIA 5 – CAPADOCIA – ESTAMBUL

Temprano en la mañana, vuelo a Estambul para conectar con su vuelo internacional.
